HYM wins the G1 Forego

Hymn delivered a memorable performance on August 29, 2026, capturing the Grade 1 Forego Stakes at Saratoga Race Course and earning his first career Grade 1 victory. The four-year-old son of McKinzie pressed the early pace under jockey Ricardo Santana Jr., took command in the stretch and held off a trio of late challengers to win the prestigious seven-furlong sprint by three-quarters of a length in 1:22.48. Trained by Ron Moquett, Hymn entered the Forego off a strong runner-up finish in the Grade 2 Alfred G. Vanderbilt Stakes and continued his remarkable progression since being gelded earlier this year.

The Forego victory was an especially significant achievement for everyone connected with Hymn. Owned by Fleur De Lis Stables, William S. Sparks and Bret Jones, and bred by Fleur De Lis Stables, Hymn has developed into an outstanding racehorse through patience, horsemanship and a belief in his ability. Foaled, raised and sold by Crestwood Farm, Hymn’s Grade 1 success represents a tremendous accomplishment for everyone involved in his development and sale. For trainer Ron Moquett, the victory also carried special meaning, coming eight years after he saddled Whitmore to win the 2018 Forego. KILWIN finishes 2nd in the G1 Ballerina

Kilwin turned in another outstanding performance on one of racing’s biggest stages, finishing a determined second in the Grade 1 Resorts World Casino Ballerina Stakes at Saratoga on August 29, 2026. The 4-year-old daughter of Twirling Candy, owned by BBN Racing LLC and Rick Howard and trained by George R. “Rusty” Arnold II, closed strongly to secure runner-up honors behind the talented Ways and Means in the seven-furlong test. Kilwin, who was bred by Gilder-Schwarz Farms LLC, was foaled, raised and sold by Crestwood Farm, where she was consigned by Pope McLean to the 2023 Keeneland September Yearling Sale. A $225,000 yearling purchase by BBN Racing, Kilwin has amassed earnings of $1,312,076 adding to her résumé after previously capturing the 2025 Grade 1 Test Stakes at Saratoga.
