Category : News , Stallions

Three-time Grade I winner and millionaire Get Stormy will enter stud at Crestwood Farm in Kentucky for the 2013 season.

Mary Sullivans homebred Get Stormy was a winner at two and went on to win Graded Stakes at three, four, five and six. At his best from a mile to nine furlongs, the Tom Bush charge won nine stakes total (seven graded), placed in another six, and won or placed in 20 of 31 lifetime starts to earn $1,606,812. He won seven of eight races and five in a row, between July as a three year old and August as a four year old. Known as an enthusiastic frontrunner; nine of his eleven wins were won in gate-to-wire fashion; including his three Grade I wins.

He was the best horse I ever trained and also the most intelligent. said Bush He is a throwback to the type of horses we used to have and need to breed back to. He is a fast and sturdy horse that was always consistent. I have had a number of respected people in the industry mention how good looking this horse is, and I would have to agree. There is a lot to like about him.

Get Stormy posted three Triple digit beyers and beat horses such as: Court Vision (MG1SW of $3,746,658), Presious Passion (MG1SW of $2,694,599), Wise Dan (MG1SW of $2,461,638), Little Mike (MG1SW of $1,454,412), Turallure (G1SW of $1,341,375), and Sidneys Candy (G1SW of $1,104,810) among notable others. He ran second by a half length to three-time champion Gio Ponti in the 2011 Grade I Shadwell Mile at Keeneland as they finished the mile in a speedy 1:34.0.

Get Stormy is by Champion Juvenile sire Stormy Atlantic, who also is a top ten General sire. He is from the female family of Coolmore stallion Canford Cliffs. Something to note is that Get Stormy is line-bred to the female family of Rough Shod, which has produced leading sires Nuryev, Sadlers Wells, etc. said Robert Keck of Crestwood Farm.

He will stand for a fee of $5,000 stands and nurses. Get Stormy will participate in the Share the Upside program at Crestwood Farm. He is now available for inspection, please call the farm for an appointment.
