Return to Glory, a 4 year old daughter of TASTE OF PARADISE, won her second race in a row on Saturday at Fonner Park, defeating a field of 10 at 6 furlongs.

Next Saturday at Golden Gate, Fast Track, a GSP son of TASTE OF PARADISE, will go for his fourth win in a row in 2014 in the Grade 3 San Francisco Mile.

On Saturday at Turf Paradise, Bella Parvati, a 4 year old daughter of TASTE OF PARADISE ran away from the field in a 6 furlong sprint race. On Sunday at Gulfstream Park, Footprintinthesand, a 5 year old daughter of TASTE OF PARADISE, went from last to first, in winning a 5 furlong race on the turf. Besides a track record by Fast Track, a GSP son of TASTE OF PARADISE, Serge to Paradise capped off Sunday with a gate to wire win over 12 rivals at 43-1, completing 6 furlongs in 1:10.14.

BULLET TRAIN SIRES FIRST FOAL!

The first foal for the Sadler’s Wells son who is also a 3/4-brother to Frankel, Bullet Train, sired his first foal over the weekend. Steven Sullivan bred a strong and correct filly out of Viscountess (IRE), a winning daughter of Green Desert.

Bullet Train, a 114 Timeform rated Group 3 winner and early favorite for the Group 1 Epsom Derby, is a 3/4-brother to arguably the greatest horse of all time, Frankel.

Bullet Train was bred to over 200 mares between both hemispheres last year.

GET STORMY SIRES FIRST FOAL

Three-time Grade I winner and millionaire Get Stormy has sired his first foal born Jan. 16. The dark bay colt is out of Delamination (Silic (FR)-Innes, by A.P. Indy), who is a 1/2-sister to G2-Placed Melanosporum, and a granddaughter of three-time G1-winning millionaire Kostroma (IRE). Mary Sullivan’s homebred Get Stormy was a Maiden Special Weight winner at two, and went on to win Graded Stakes at ages three, four, five and six under the tutelage of trainer Tom Bush. Known as an enthusiastic frontrunner, he won seven Graded Stakes, and earned $1,606,812.

FIRST FOAL REPORTED FOR COUNTRY DAY

Country Day (Speightstown-Hidden Assets, by Mt. Livermore) has sired his first foal born Jan. 22. The dark bay colt is out of Love in Paris (Not for Love) and is owned by Tracy Strachan. Country Day was a Stakes winning sprinter on all three surfaces and ran a close second in the 2011 BC Turf Sprint; he amassed earnings of $503,829.

GENERAL QUARTERS NEW TO CRESTWOOD FARM FOR 2014

Multiple Grade 1 winner and millionaire General Quarters (Sky Mesa-Ecology, by Unbridled’s Song) will stand at Pope McLean’s Crestwood Farm new for 2014.

Victorious in the 2009 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (G1) and the 2010 Woodford Reserve Turf Classic Stakes (G1), General Quarters earned more than $1.2 million in a stellar career on the racetrack for owner and trainer Tom McCarthy. In addition to his two Grade 1 scores, General Quarters also won the Sam F. Davis Stakes (G3), placed in the Stephen Foster Handicap (G1), WinStar Kentucky Cup Stakes (G2), New Orleans Handicap (G2), and the Mineshaft Handicap (G3).

Sky Mesa’s leading earner, General Quarters broke his maiden first time out as a 2-year old going 4-1/2 furlongs, on the dirt at Churchill Downs. Precocious, sound, and versatile he won or placed in 15 of 27 starts being a Graded Stakes winner on dirt, synthetic, and turf. Winning races from 4-1/2 to 9 furlongs, he defeated eight Grade 1 winners, and registered five 100+ Beyer Figures.
